OKA Grant Projects

In 2026, the Washington-Tacoma Korean American Association received support twice from the Overseas Koreans Agency (OKA) of the Republic of Korea.

① Lunar New Year Celebration – 49th Leadership Inauguration & 26th Korean Night

On February 7, 2026, with support from the OKA, WATKAA hosted a festive Lunar New Year Korean Night together with our community.

② Korean Community Center Renovation – Matching Fund

With the generous donations raised at our May 30 Fundraising Gala and a matching grant from the OKA, we renovated our community center, which has served the community since the association was founded in 1977. The work included ceiling, wall and floor repairs, new classroom TVs, an updated kitchenette, parking lot paving and striping, and a new sign. The completion ceremony was held on August 8 together with our Liberation Day celebration. The names of our donors are honored on the Donor Wall at the center.

We sincerely thank the Overseas Koreans Agency and every member of our community for their support.
